A brief history of TNFA

Tamilnadu Fencing Association (Ad-HoC) is a non-profit organisation focused on development of Fencing Sports. TNFA is to promote, develop and popularise the sport of fencing in Tamilnadu which is affiliated with Fencing Assoication of India (FAI).

The sport of fencing was introduced in Tamilnadu in the 1987s. The Tamilnadu Fencing Association (TNFA) was formed in 1987. However, structured development and competitions were initiated only in the late 1990s..

Mr.Viswanathan founded the Tamilnadu Fencing Association in 1987.

Fencing Rules

The Fencing Association of India (FAI) follow the Rules of the Sport & Competition
formulated by the International Fencing Federation (FIE), as applicable in national competitions.
